BOOK IN A PRE-PLANNING APPOINTMENT- this is the first step to book a session

Beautiful timeless portraits begins with building relationships, telling us about your home, your family and what matters to you is a crucial first step. The pre-planning answers ALL your questions and helps us get to know you and/or your family and who we are photographing so we can map out your session. We need to know what you want, what your goals are, what location you want, what theme you want, clean, modern, rustic, vintage or fine art? With this information your session is carefully planned and fully designed to meet your needs, vision and lifestyle. It is also a time we can advise you what to wear and how to prepare the people/pet being photographed. To save you time and money we can do skype or over the phone, to secure your session placing we can take your fees over the phone via credit or debit card, however, if you wish to come to the studio and meet with me personally and see all our beautiful products that can be arranged also. Pre planning should take about 15-20 minutes. When you book a pre planning session please make sure you put it in your calendar and set a reminder. If you can't make the call please give us notice.

We are a small boutique studio and a no show hugely impacts our time and resources.

Getting the family together for a session can be a stressful time. Pressure to get there on time wondering if the children will behave agonizing over what to wear and convincing those that hate having their photos taken, it won’t be “that bad,” we know, we feel your pain. Take the pressure off yourself, you don't need to worry, Helen is very patient she knows how children (and some adults) behave, she has been there, done that. As a matter a fact, she would prefer you let the children to be themselves and not put pressure on them, it’s better to let them be so their real personality will shine out.

Sessions take place in our beautiful studio where you can feel relaxed and at home. We work with natural and continuous lights and a selection of simple props and set designs. The studio offers an alternative place to come if the weather is not favourable. When the weather is warmer and the lighting is soft and beautiful we love to take the sessions outdoors! Taranaki offers lots of scenic spots for some amazing and unique images. We can recommend a spot for you or if you have a location that is special to you we can plan the lighting and time around that too. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and are commitment to each of our clients to create a unique piece of art for their home.

THE ORDERING APPOINTMENT - same day cinematic viewing of your images

This is the most exciting part, this is the time when you get to sit back, relax and see all your beautiful images slowly being revealed to you one by one for the first time. Your images are shown on a 50 inch screen. We take the time to go through them one by one so you can choose your favourites. From there we can design the right art piece for you and even show you exactly how it will look in your home. We are here every step of the way to help you through this process. This is the time when you will finalize your portrait order, so be sure to pick a time where the financial member can be there. You can pay by cash, debit or credit card, Laybuy Plans for under $1000 or our 0% payment plans for orders over $1000. You can get pre approval here. We specialize in wall series and heirloom albums, designed especially by Helenjoy. All of them you will love and get excited!

COLLECTION - Where you will see the finish product for the first time

All the images you buy go through an art process that makes them unique to you and given a certificate of authenticity for the generations to come. It will also tell you how to look after it so it will last your lifetime and beyond. This takes about 6-8 weeks to produce from production to framing. We’ll email you to let you know when your order is ready and you can book in a time to come and collect it. This is for quality purposes and to make sure you are 100% happy with your products and you will get a 'reveal' where you will see your images for the first time. Once your portraits are hanging, you can sit back and admire them EVERY DAY and you will finally have that legacy for your generations.

A LONG-TERM PLAN - Become a VIP client and you will get a complimentary session every year for the rest of your life

If you have spent over $1000 you will instantly become one of our VIP clients. We know you change, your children grow, you have additions, your children become teens, and then they leave home. There will be times when you will want to update your portraits, so right from the start we can plan, knowing that more may come. The next time you work with us as a VIP client, you instantly get a complimentary session We can design around the past session, so your images can coordinate with the ones we have already created for you in a way that works and you will take great pleasure in for the rest of your life.
